The Church of St. Catherine lies on the highest point of Badija from which the whole sea surrounding Korčula can be seen. It was built at the same time as the Church of Our Lady of Grace. The Yugoslav army turned the church into a watchtower. They built a concrete machine gun nest on top of the demolished bell tower and used it to guard prisoners. If a prisoner attempted to flee across the sea, the guards would respond by opening fire. Cantilevered stairs lie on the north side and were used to climb to the watchtower. The church was completely laid waste and of its inventory, only the bell was found which was destroyed and knocked down from the bell tower.
